Another intense day but trust me - we are really going for it. The pedal is down and the Reform members are giving this everything they have. We are knocking on thousands of doors each day and taking the fight to Starmer’s Labour. Another team is about to go out. I met an elderly lady on the doors who said nobody had ever knocked on hers before. She was so disillusioned with politics. She said she wasn’t going to vote for anybody. I felt very sad. I could see it in her eyes - she had completely checked out. I think it is what happens after decades of the Tories and Labour just letting people down —just lying and gaslighting and treating their own voters with utter contempt. People have just given up. They don’t trust anybody. They don’t think anybody will make a difference. I said to her: “give us a chance - just one chance - I promise I will speak for you and work for you”. Not Gaza. Not the Labour Party. Gorton and Denton. “You’re all in it for yourselves”, she said. “You’re all the same”. “I’m not”, I replied. “I had an easy life before this by-election. I didn’t need to do this. I just want to help people like you”. She hesitated. I handed her a leaflet and said: “think about it”. I don’t know how she will vote or even if she will vote. But I really do hope she takes that chance. I hope we can show her there is a reason to feel hopeful again. Not everybody who goes into politics is in it for themselves. It should be community and country before party, not the other way around. I hope I see that lady again one day and I hope very much that the people of Gorton and Denton decide to give Reform that chance so that one day I can show her what a difference we can make. Who knows, maybe that lady is reading this. If you are, I promise that if you give us that chance I won’t let you down. Vote Reform, Get Starmer Out. Put Gorton and Denton first. -
